Toy Story The Video Game

When Disney Pixar released the first Toy Story movie in 1995 it took the world by storm. It would go on to redefine the Disney cinematic universe in the most amazing way. At the same time Disney were also releasing some of the best tie in Disney games in history.

Toy Story

The game faithfully follows the story of the Toy Story movie and starts off with Woody in Andy’s room. Your mission is to free the green army men and find the baby monitor! Straight away the movement of Woody gives a really nice feel to Toy Story the game. For a 2D game does a great job of recreating the feel of the original Toy Story movie! Using Woody’s draw string to swing across big jumps and bounce off balls to get to hard to reach places. I found myself enjoying the pure mechanics of the gameplay as I explored Andy’s room.

This introduced to me a new and exciting way to play a side scroller. Adding an extra level of depth and exploration. Toy Story the video game was as exciting, innovative and fun as Toy Story the movie itself. With gorgeous graphics that did justice to the ground breaking animation at the time.

Toy Story 2 The Video Game

Four years later and the new Toy Story 2 movie was on the horizon. This time I was all caught up in Toy Story mania. Once again Toy Story the video game begins in Andy’s room but this time it’s a fully 3D environment to explore… and you’re Buzz Lightyear!! Double jumping, falling with style Buzz Lightyear!

Toy Story 2

Straight off the bat I must have spent a good hour just checking out Andy’s house! At the time being able to explore the iconic Andy’s house as the one and only Buzz Lightyear was an absolute blast!! The Fun and pure enjoyment I got from the Toy Story 2 video game make it one of my most nostalgic games of all times. And is one I regularly go back to especially as I can now play it on my PSP!

Toy Story 3 The Video Game

So fast forward 11 years and Toy Story 3 was coming out… you know I was hyped for Toy Story 3 the video game! And I was not disappointed! Once again Disney Interactive Studios made sure we got a gem with the Toy Story 3 game!

Toy Story 3

Toy Box

This time you are able to play as Buzz Lightyear, Woody and Jessie. With the big difference being that as well as the standar Toy Story story mode we get a whole new mode in the form of the Toy Box. Toy Box mode is set within the fictional universe of Woodys’ roundup and acts as a completely free roaming environment where you perform tasks to unlock new areas and content.

Story Mode

Fortunately the story mode is every bit as fun as the Toy Box mode. Loosely following the plot of the Toy Story 3 movie. This time the gameplay goes back to the varied style of the first Toy Story game. Starting off as Woody with the runaway train scene from the Toy Story 3 before going back once again to Andy’s house. Being able to swap between Woody, Buzz Lightyear and Jessie to help solve different puzzles and reach different areas.

The story continues as you get to live out some of the classic Toy Story scenes. One of the most memorable being the Buzz Lightyear video game sequence from Toy Story 2!

Toy Story 4 The Video Game

With the Toy Story games evolution getting better with each sequel and with Toy Story 4 just around the corner you know I am absolutely psyched for Toy Story 4 The Video Game! The only problem is… it hasn’t been announced!! And I’m not sure if one will.

Toy Story Games

The Toy Story games have provided quick pick up and easily accessible gameplay that lives up to the fun and feels of the Toy Story movies. Giving us gorgeous visual and exciting varied gameplay. I would be absolutely gutted if we don’t’ get a Toy Story 4 Game! It needs to be made! Heck I’ll make it if Disney let me!!
